About Workshops and Classes
Meet the Movement Experts; Doctors of Physical Therapy
Physical therapists are movement experts who team with physical therapist assistants to treat people of all ages and abilities. We are licensed health care providers who help you avoid surgery and prescription drugs, maximize your mobility, manage pain and chronic conditions, improve your physical function & fitness and recover from and/or prevent injury. Get care that's specific to your goals, your body, and your lifestyle. At Paso Robles Physical Therapy we pride ourselves with providing one-on-one care for a range of conditions from orthopedics, neurological, pediatrics, pelvic floor, lymphedema, and aquatic therapy. Come to our open house to learn more about physical therapy and the many benefits of physical therapy.
Pediatric Purposeful Play
Bring your infants and toddlers and learn about ways to purposefully structure play appropriate for each developmental stage. Introduction to the importance of play that promotes functional mobility and allows children to explore their environment. How to set up a purposeful play area with household items. A sample play area and opportunity for children to go through a fun obstacle course. This is a workshop the whole family will love. Appropriate for ages 0-4. Parents or caregivers must accompany children. Wonder what Pediatric physical therapy is all about? Ask our pediatrics team about all they do with a casual Q&A
Senior Fitness
Explore functional (and FUN!) movements in a safe, supportive, and motivating environment. This class is appropriate for those wishing to gain a better understanding of ways to move more efficiently as you age. Our Personal Trainers work under the direction of Doctors of Physical Therapy who understand movement and encourage ways to modify exercises to prevent injury, address limitations, and keep you pain free beyond the gym. Because exercise should feel good, no matter your age!
All Levels Yoga & Meditation
Discover the deep work of intentional practice through movement, breath, and mindfulness. Our Registered Yoga Teacher will lead you through an all levels flow of traditional yoga postures that are designed to incorporate flexibility, strength, and mobility. We will go beyond the physical practice and encourage students to work with their breath and focus their minds.
Neuro Rehab & Motor Skill Acquisition
Learn from Neurological Specialists in this interactive workshop on ways to improve brain health through movement. Discussing physical therapy rehabilitation for a neurological injury, and how the nervous system adapts to challenge. Topics will include: how to improve your balance, why the brain and body need exercise, and strategies on how to best learn new movement skills.
Nutrition Coaching Concepts
Ever wondered what a nutrition coach could do for you? Well, here is your chance to learn just what process our coaches can do to help you form life long health habits around nutrition. We will cover the basics of nutrition, how to address health concerns, what it means to have a "balanced diet", and more! Come hungry to learn!
Pelvic Floor, Posture, and Breath
Our pelvic floor rehab specialist will lead this workshop for anyone wanting a deeper understanding of their pelvic floor. This demonstration of postural symmetry, pelvic positioning, and breathing mechanics will tie in the practice of how we control our body as a whole to better support the pelvic floor. In sitting, we'll self-audit our alignment and discuss the benefit to our pelvic function. We'll also use a balloon to apply breathing practice and visualize the benefits of proper core stability.
Mobility Flow & Foam Roll
Work through functional range of motion, and explore movements with strength, stability, and flexibility. A slow moving, intentional class designed to work deep into the tissues. We will work with the foam roller to explore mobility exercises, deep stretches, and self massage.
Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork
Workshop led by both Massage Therapists and Physical Therapists, learn about what therapeutic massage can do for you, who it's beneficial for, and why we explore this important modality beyond the "spa".
Mat Pilates & Sculpt
Based on the traditional concepts of Pilates; centering, concentration, control, precision, breath, and flow. Each exercise and movement sequence embodies these six principles. Pilates is a low-impact exercise and can be easily modified. This spin on the traditional version of mat pilates incorporates balls, weights, and bands to sculpt.
